May 7-11
I hope that everyone has a chance to enjoy the sun and hot weather this weekend! We spent the majority of our week working on our Passion Projects and our play for the Festival du théâtre. Alongside those two big items, we also finished our unit on fractions and began a discussion on different types of energy.
Two important updates:
1. For our Passion Projects, the glossary (a list of four French words with four definitions) and the first French paragraph were due today. If those two items weren't finished by the end of our working block this afternoon, I will be checking that they have been completed by Monday afternoon. This upcoming week, we will focus on our second English paragraph. Here is the checklist that I have displayed in the classroom that shows all the elements required for the project.
2. In regards to the Festival du théâtre, we have been busy practising our play and making costumes/sets for the big day. The show will be Tuesday, May 22 @ 1:30pm at the Sagebrush Theatre. Family and friends are more than welcome to come. We look forward to having you in the audience! The script is available here if your child wishes to practice their lines this weekend.
As for our vocabulary words, they will be the same as this week: voyageur, portage, Métis, brigade, coureur des bois, and poste de traite.
