May the fourth be with you! The weeks seem like they are going by faster and faster these days with the end of the school year not that far away. We had two main focuses this week: our Passion Projects and our play, "Olivier cherche sa place". Firstly, their first English paragraph was due today. If they did not finish it, they will have to complete the paragraph at home over the weekend. Next week, we will talk about translation tools, glossaries and write our first French paragraph. Secondly, we rehearsed our play a few times and began making costumes for the performance. If students play characters, they should begin to memorise their lines as we will start to stage the play next week. The script is available here.
Next week, we will continue our discussion about the explorers' motivation to come to Canada and to discover new parts of the country, we will finally finish off our fractions unit, and we will talk about different forms of energy.
To support our discussion about the explorers' motivation, our French vocabulary words will be voyageur, portage, Métis, brigade, coureur des bois, and poste de traite.
