This week, we worked on our Passion Projects and created our inquiry questions. After the students have had the opportunity to review their questions, I will send them home to be signed so that all parents/guardians are aware of what their child's chosen topic is. Next week, they will begin researching the answers to their questions.
Alongside their Passion Projects, the students explored fractions in Math and we talked about explorers and their search for the Northwest Passage in Social Studies. Next week, we will start our Science unit on energy, read through our year-end play and the Grade 4s will attend a track-and-field workshop.
In celebration of Earth Day. we will end off our week with a field trip at Roderick-Haig Brown Provincial Park on Friday where the students will take part in various outdoor educational workshops. The students are encouraged to dress in layers and be prepared for possible rain (raincoat, rain boots etc. ). I want to say a huge Thank You to those parents who have expressed interest in attending the field trip with us. As we have four classes going to the park, we are unsure if there will be any room left on the bus for parent volunteers. I am sorry if this causes anyone any inconveniences. We look forward to having you join us!
