The Winter Break is here! I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you a happy holiday and to thank you for the lovely gifts. I appreciate all your support this term as I couldn't have done it without you!

This week, we had our Christmas concert, we reviewed our reading strategies and we finished our unit on decimals. We also talked about strategies that we can use when faced with a challenge in class in order to become more independent thinkers and learners. As a class, we came up with the following strategies:

In order to persevere,

be positive

continue to try

look at your friends around you

look at the posters around you

look at the whiteboard

ask for help from friends and from the teacher

As for homework over the winter break, the students are to read every day and fill out their reading log. If the students want to work on their language skills, they can do Duolingo. If they want to improve their math skills, they can work on Prodigy. The students have all their usernames and passwords for both applications so they can work on it at home.

Other than that, I hope that everyone enjoys the snow, the chance to sleep in and the opportunity to spend time with family. Have a safe and happy holiday! Stayed tuned for another blog post about what we will be doing in the New Year.
