Hello everyone! It is officially December and the countdown begins to Winter break.

With report cards just around the corner, this week was full of assessments and finishing off projects. We did a mapping project of the school, a final assignment for our biome unit in Science and finished off our book reports. Next week, I will be collecting any late assignments/projects no later than December 6th as the marks have to be in by the 8th.

Today we also began a new mini-unit that will take us to the end of December. This mini-unit is called "Gifts of Kindness" which will not only allow the students to explore my third P (Positivity), but it will also give the students the opportunity to spread some holiday cheer! Given enough time, this unit may include making cards, reading to our Little Buddies, partaking in the Rice Krispies campaign #treatsfortoys and/or visiting a nearby senior home to read to the residents.

A quick reminder that there is no school on Monday. Consequently, there will be no spelling test this Friday as it is a short week.

Also, if your child wishes to pre-order hot chocolate, please return the pre-order slip and the $.50 to me by Friday, Dec 8. The Grade 7 leadership team are preparing the hot chocolate sales for the last week before winter break and Grade 3s and 4s will receive their hot chocolate Dec 20.
