FSAs are officially over (minus a few students who have some questions to finish off) so Grade 4s can begin to actually enjoy Grade 4 now!

This week, we also spent a lot of time talking about main themes as they occur in books, movies and music. In particular, we looked at the theme of Growth Mindset in these three mediums. At the end of the week, we started exploring other elements of stories such as conflict, solution, and setting. As a result, our vocabulary words for next week are character, idea, theme, story, conflict and setting. Eventually, the students will be writing and illustrating their own books that will include a plot revolving around Growth Mindset.

Besides Growth Mindset, we also started interactive notebooks on French grammar, began some review on subtraction and continued working on our Escape Room project for Science.
